I had the opportunity to review Noreve’s case for the MSI Wind here on this site, and one of the company’s cases for the iPhone 3G over on What’sOniPhone. As a result I have become a huge fan of their products.
Today, I have the opportunity to review the Noreve leather sleeve for the MacBook and MacBook Air. At just over $75 (base price) the leather case falls in the mid range when it comes to price. Where does it fall with regard to quality and aesthetics? Let’s take a look —
The Hype —
One-of-a-kind and handcrafted in leather of exceptional quality. Elegant, easy to carry, slim but total protection for the modern executive that you are!
The Reality —
I received a light colored sleeve (not my personal favorite since I prefer black) that looks and feels quite nice.
The design, quality of the leather, and workmanship are all what I have come to expect from Noreve. Whether it is perfect, consistent and color, and incredibly soft. This seems are tight and straight — and reflect a commitment to quality it is one of the hallmarks of the company. The zipper is similarly flawless and seems strong enough to hold up under years of use abuse.
As is the case with Noreve’s other products, a small metal accent displays the company’s logo. While I’m not a fan of advertising company’s and their products when using them, this is subtle and “classy” enough to not bother me at all.
The slip cover is basically an envelope that zippers over the notebook once inside. Where this particular cover stands out is in the fact that between the beautiful leather and the soft inner fabric (perfect for keeping the smooth perfect aluminum of the new MacBook smooth and perfect) is 5 mm of foam padding. While it won’t protect the notebook from dropping it certainly will protect it from everything else.
In all, this leave feels like an absolute luxury accessory but at a reasonable price.
According to the company’s site black cases are in stock and there is the possibility that other cases are as well. Even if not the case, my experience with the company is that they ship rather quickly– less than 15 working days according to the site — which is always important for those of us who are rather impatient when it comes to our tech accessories.

What I Like: High quality leather and craftsmanship which result in a luxury look and feel but at a reasonable price.
What Needs Improvement: I’m perfectly happy with the design but I suspect others might want the option of adding an additional pocket or two for a small accessory or charger.
Conclusion: I like this sleeve a whole lot and can see getting much use from it as it protects my beautiful aluminum MacBook.. The only thing that would make it better would be if the one in my hands right now was in black.
