JAVOedge recently released a new line of cases for the Amazon Kindle 2.

These cases, called Hardwood Sleeves, are eco-friendly sleeve style cases made to protect your Kindle when you’re not reading.

The cases, which are made to look like hardwood, come in two styles, Oak or Ash.

JAVOedge was kind enough to send along both styles for me to review.

The case itself is a pouch style that’s meant to protect your Kindle from bumps and drops when not in use.

Although it looks like wood the case is soft in the hand but overall remains rigid.

The fit is quite snug.  The case doesn’t have a tremendous amount of padding but the tight non-leather material fit offers a nice amount of protection for your Kindle.

The inside of the case is lined with a soft material which will protect your device from scratches.

The case also features a convenient pullout tab which makes removal of the Kindle from the case quite easy.

The tab is quite unique as it’s built in the bottom and inside of the case.  This means you don’t have to fuss with it every time you go to place the Kindle back inside the case.  It’ll always be there, in the proper position waiting to receive the Kindle.

The edges of the case are double stitched which adds nice detail to the overall look.
