Using The iPhone To Get And Stay Organized – Part 2- Jott

In part one of “Using The iPhone To Get And Stay Organized” I did a full review of reQall. While I love its powerful features and low price… it is always good to have choices. And Jott, well let’s just say Jott has a few neat tricks of its own.

Yesterday Larry and I were emailing back and forth a bit… but neither of us were doing much typing. No, instead we were using Jott. With Jott you can select someone as a “Favorite”, tap their name, speak for up to 30 seconds and then… well there is no “and then”…

The app sends the voice note to its servers, transcribes it and then sends it to the recipient as an email.

Let’s take a look.

With Jott you can write memos to yourself or, if you choose, instead of typing out a paragraph of a post you can… Jott it. For example if you want to write…

Instead of typing out an email and sending it to somebody, you can simply make them one of your favorites under people. And simply speaker jott, tap their name and it’ll get transcribed and sent right to them as an email. It’s a great way to communicate and it’s safe, especially when you’re on the go.

You could simply Jott it…

And it is indeed true… Instead of typing out an email you can just speak…

You can even send a Jott to an entire group…

It even lets you create appointments in Google Calendar…

The convenience and flexibility Jott offers is tremendous and make the service a great addition for anyone who is on the go.

Unfortunately Jott no longer offers a free version of their service. For $3.95 per month, however you can create Jotts of up to 15 seconds. For $12.95 you can speak for up to 30 seconds. Details are available HERE.

So between Jott and reQall which is better? That depends on your needs, your work style and your budget since reQall still offers a free version and the Pro version is just $2 per month.

The best advice… try them both and decide for yourself.
