Speck has been releasing some great cases for the current generation of iOS devices. Their latest creation is the CandyShell Grip. The CandyShell Grip is “the first case that seamlessly integrates comfortable, finger-friendly gaming grips into the sleek protection and style of the award-winning hard shell, soft center CandyShell case”.

As Bryan Hynecek, Lead Designer at Speck explains,

“Anyone can make a big bulky gaming case, but we set out to create a case ideal for people that love gaming that would also look and work just as well as their everyday case. The new iPod touch is amazingly thin, so we knew we had to offer the extra grip and comfort gamers would appreciate without compromising protection or style, and without having to take it off when not gaming.”

The Speck CandyShell Grip has an MSRP of $34.95 and can be ordered directly form the Speck web site. The full release follows…

SPECK HELPS GAMERS KEEP THEIR EDGE WITH ‘CANDYSHELL GRIP’; NEW CASE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR ‘ON THE GO’ GAMING AND ENTERTAINMENT ON THE iPod touch 4th Gen

PALO ALTO, CA — November 17, 2010 – With billions of games and entertainment apps downloaded and Apple’s new Game Center, the new iPod touch 4th Gen has firmly planted itself as the must-have handheld gaming device this fall. To support the newest member of the iPod touch family, Speck today unveiled the CandyShell Grip, the first case that seamlessly integrates comfortable, finger-friendly gaming grips into the sleek protection and style of the award-winning hard shell, soft center CandyShell case.
“Anyone can make a big bulky gaming case, but we set out to create a case ideal for people that love gaming that would also look and work just as well as their everyday case,” said Bryan Hynecek, Lead Designer at Speck. “The new iPod touch is amazingly thin, so we knew we had to offer the extra grip and comfort gamers would appreciate without compromising protection or style, and without having to take it off when not gaming.”

The beauty of CandyShell Grip is in its details. Ridged rubbery finger pads on the back of the case offer gamers an extra-grippy surface to hold onto their iPod touch during frantic games of Ninjatown: Trees of Doom!, while the four bumpers around the front bezel edges help lock in thumb placement over the iPod’s touchscreen so players won’t lose track of where their games’ virtual control buttons are as they strive to get their next win against a foe in Bomberman. As a member of the CandyShell family, the case’s cushiony rubberized interior and button covers insulate from fatal drops and the case’s sturdy and sleek outer hard offers a constant defense from life’s daily dings and scrapes while still providing iPod touch users in hand comfort. CandyShell Grip is perfect for anyone who consistently keeps their gaming on the move with them and is available in MoonSicle White and DarkLord Black for a MSRP of $34.95.
