It seems like my kids have grown up with Harry Potter, and therefore we all share a fondness for the books and films. When they were little I read the first few books aloud using character voices. By the time the last couple arrived they could read them just fine but still had me read them aloud … which meant the world to me (though my wife wished she made the ‘approved reader’ list).

We have also seen all seven films in theaters, and most of them a few times at home as well – so we are very much looking forward to the arrival of the final entry. Today we get a look at the ‘final’ trailer … and it is intense, epic, and very well done!

One thing, as my wife said – I think we’ll skip on the midnight showing this time around!

What are your plans for the Harry Potter finale? Are you excited or burnt out on the franchise?

  1. Daniel Radcliff grew up quite well, and Emma Watson has become a real beauty. Rupert Grint looks almost exactly the same.

I only wish they could have somehow worked in the time for some of my favorite scenes from the books, even if they didn’t advance the plot so much. Harry kissing Ginny for the first time after Griffindor wins the Quiddich cup; the Weasley’s arrival at Privet Drive . . . through the bricked-up fireplace. Professor Dumbledore’s discussion with the Dursleys at the beginning of “Half-Blood Prince”. Stuff like that. Ah well; can’t have it all, I suppose. Unless you do an HBO mini-series . . .
