Occupy Sesame Street

Occupy Sesame Street

I really have no intent to make fun of the people in NYC as part of the ‘occupy Wall Street’ movement, as I think most hard-working Americans would agree that there are inherent problems in the shifts in distribution of wealth over the last 30 years coupled with the latest double-dip recession in which normal folks were trounced and thrown out of their homes while big investors and corporations were protected and bailed out. But that is a debate for a different day.

That said – this item from Tauntr is just too funny to let pass – they are calling it ‘Occupy Sesame Street’. Here is their description:

Occupy Wall Street is a major movement both on the streets and on the web, but it isn’t getting the media attention it deserves. Why? Because it doesn’t resonate with kids. Kids drive the market and therefore the media, but they have absolutely no interest in seeing politically-charged 20-somethings sprayed in the face with mace (probably).

Pepper spray Snuffleupagus, however, and you got yourself a protest ready for prime time. Which is why we here at Tauntr have envisioned the perfect revolution. Don’t Occupy Wall Street. Occupy Sesame Street.
