So does anybody actually still do shots anymore? In my younger day, I might have tipped a few back, and I do see the young folks dropping a Jägerbomb every now and then at my local watering hole. But for the most part, I like to sip my drinks rather than snapping my head back and pouring one down my gullet.

However, if you are in the holiday spirit for some holiday spirits and want to maximize the efficiency of your consumption, then perhaps a set of Bombs Away Shot Glasses from ConvenientGadgets.com is just the ticket. Made from sturdy double-walled borosilicate glass, which is apparently the same material used to make scientific lab equipment, these shooters are attractive enough right out of the box.

Their secret is revealed when you fill them with (preferably brown) liquor. Then the 3-D form of a bomb complete with fins appears to encourage you to drop this payload down the hatch. Of course there’s not much to review about this fun little gimmicky product, but if I had one quibble it would be that they actually really only hold 1 oz. instead of the purported 1 1/2 oz.

The bomb is fully armed with 1 ounce!

Again, it’s no big deal. Smaller shots are probably a better idea anyway, especially with a Saturday night New Year’s Eve coming up. Remember, in all things…moderation and line up that designated driver before you even think of going out that night.

Bombs Away Shot Glasses

MSRP: $17.95

What I Like: Relatively attractive and very sturdy, which is crucial after a few bombs have been dropped

What Needs Improvement: Nothing really, except maybe a warning or reminder to those of us over 40 that we’re not in college anymore!
