Qmadix was kind enough to send three of their new iPhone cases for review. I thought we might take a quick look at each one. In Part 1 we’ll look at the Vibe Flex-Gel Cover for Apple iPhone 4S. If you like a soft colorful case and enjoy seeing the Apple logo on the back of your iPhone this just might be the case for you.

The case simply snaps over the iPhone 4 or 4S and, in the process, provides full protection for the back, sides, top and bottom of the iPhone. I was pleased to find that the case still fit well despite my having Bodyguardz back protection on my iPhone. (That’s why you don’t see the Apple logo shining through.)

The case is thick enough on the bottom to provide real protection but the cutouts are precise enough that the microphone and speaker are not blocked in the least. The dock connector opening is large enough for most cables but some third-party offerings may be problematic.

As you can see, the case offers plenty of lay-on-the-table protection. At the same time, it does not interfere with accessing the screen.

The top of the case also has precise openings that let you access the 3.5mm headphone jack and the sleep/awake button. The noise-cancelling microphone is also unobstructed.

And in keeping with a now-familiar theme, the cutout for the volume buttons and mute toggle are also precise.

In all this is a nice case that provides plenty of protection for your iPhone. At the same time I was a bit disappointed that the $25 case did not come with a screen protector. I know it cuts into the margins on a fairly inexpensive case but still, getting that extra is always a nice surprise.

My final comment is this- do you really NEED a case with a clear plastic area that lets you see the Apple logo through it? Seriously, like people won’t recognize that it is an iPhone? And if it IS that important to you, maybe you just don’t want a case at all? You know?

So in summary, the case protects, it comes in a number of different colors and it has a clear window on the back. If these sound good to you check out all the varieties here on the company site.

MSRP:  $24.99

What I Like: Good protection; Cutouts precise; Comes in numerous colors

What Needs Improvement: No screen protector; I really don’t get the whole “window in the back” thing
