Yesterday we brought word of HTC’s new line of Android smartphones, the HTC One. There are three phones in the line and each has its own unique screen size and feel. What is particularly unique however is the fact that the phones are NOT UNIQUE. No, the enhanced camera, sound and build-quality is the SAME across the line. As one of the HTC reps put it, “The great thing this time out is that you only need to make the choice with regard to the size and feel you want, the camera, sound etc is the same across the line so THAT isn’t a choice you have to make.
Here’s a video of the HTC One X and HTC One S followed by pictures of each.
I had a chance to met with Chris Park from the HTC Product and Strategy Team. He pointed out that there are three main takeaways from the HTC One line.
1. They are focussing on enhancing the experience for their consumers through the use of premium designs and premium materials.
2. An amazing camera. Shotos have taken off and are the most used area after calls. Yes, last year there were 45 billion photos uploaded to FaceBook from MOBILE devices. Billion with a B.
3. Remarkable Music. Beats Audio is on all three devices and now works at an OS level so all apps can take advantage of it.
All three experiences are available across the line of devices.
As Park said, “We’re bringing the best products forward and we are excited to have these to offer the consumer.”
Their premium design is really an evolution in design as they have been thinking through everything from a design and use perspective.
“Authentic sound and amazing cameras are important and we’ve got them.”
Here’s a closer look at all three.
The HTC One X is going to be exclusive to AT&T in the US.
