GE’s X400 digital camera is now available. It brings power and performance at an incredibly affordable price that is below $130. It has a 2.7″ LCD screen, a 15X optical zoom, a 27mm wide-angle lens and offers an impressive 14 megapixels.

The camera also offers over 20 unique shooting modes and a “high dynamic range, which adjusts light exposure for more detail in both light and dark scenes”. Optical image stabilization is also present, helping to reduce blur and get you the best pictures possible. As Paul Meyhoefer, vice president of marketing and product planning, notes,

We have seen phenomenal growth in both retail and consumer adoption of our GE lineup of high quality digital cameras. Much of that success can be attributed to our Power PRO Series, particularly the X500 digital camera. In 2011 GAP Intelligence, a 10-year veteran CE market research firm, named GE as the fastest growing mid-tier camera brand, further validating our commitment to delivering high performance cameras at an exceptional value. The GE X400 rounds out the 2012 GE Power PRO X Series, giving consumers an even more affordable option in the most popular bridge camera category.

At an MSRP of just $129.99 it is a great camera for new photographers or those who need a good, inexpensive camera that still offers a nice range of features. We have a post on the way that will compare images taken with the GE X400 to the iPhone 4S and the far more expensive Canon G11.
