When we were at CES in January I had the opportunity to stop by the Lowepro booth and see some of the awesome camera bags they have to offer. At the time I was interested, but didn’t find the gear personally relevant since I was content using my iPhone and Canon G11 for photos, and neither requires a good camera bag.
Fast forward a few months, and I am actually looking for a good camera bag. You see, I thought the SonyDSLR we posted on a number of weeks back looked amazing, and I plan to pick one up as soon as they are available. That camera is big enough — and pricey enough — that I want a good bag for it. Fortunately LowePro has some great offerings, and they just introduced two brand new bags. Both are designed “to enhance your shooting anywhere from the side of a mountain, to a crowded city street”.Here’s a quick look.
We will have more soon as review samples are on the way.
The Flipside Sport is available in two sizes and two colors at prices of $134.95 and $124.99. It is has body-side access and is designed “so you can move with ease and comfort while hiking, skiing, mountain biking…any way you play in the outdoors”.
It features:
Body-side access so you can get to your gear without removing the pack
Lowepro’s classic padded divider system with an inventive twist: Remove the camera compartment to convert the bag into a fully functional daypack
Hydration-ready side pocket, easy-to-reach port for a sip tube and secure tripod attachment system, plus loads of other outdoor features like lashes for poles/ice axe, and all-weather cover to protect your gear from the elements
The Urban Photo Sling
The Urban Photo Sling is available in black, and it comes in two sizes with a price of $99.99 and $84.99. It was “inspired by street shooters, bloggers and enthusiasts who love to capture what’s around them. It is designed so you can “easily shift positions on the move with three wearable options – front, back and side.”
It features:
Two loading options for easy access and maximum organization
Signature divider system including padded compartment for your iPad.
Zippered front and sides pockets for grab-and-go access to your cap, filter, metro ticket and everything else
Both bags look great, and something tells me the sling is going to win me over big time. We will know soon enough. You can check out all of Lowepro’s bags on the company site.
