You know, I wonder what they put in their coffee or beverage of choice over at USBFever, because it never ceases to amaze me the constellation of gizmos that pop up in their online offerings. Take for example USBFever’s latest item, the Universal USB Hub and Card Reader for Apple iPad / Galaxy Tabs. USBFever claims that this USB hub will support 90% of the tablets out there, but what exactly does this Universal USB hub do? Does it slice and dice or even julienne? No, but this hub is getting darned close with its three primary functions:

– With iPad
* Used as camera kit when connecting to Apple 2 / iPad 3
* Supports photos in the memory card (SD / MS / M2 / TF) uploaded to iPad 2 / iPad 3
* Sync data with PC when the USB Port connecting to PC
* Extend 2 USB Port for USB Device, e.g. Keyboard, Camera.

– With Samsung Galaxy Tab
* Used as camera kit when connecting to Samsung Galaxy Tabs
* Read SD / MS / M2 / TF Memory card as USB Storage
* Sync data with PC when the Micro USB Port connecting to PC
* Extend 2 USB Port Support Hi-Speed USB Device

– With PC
* Read SD / MS / M2 / TF Memory card as USB Storage
* Extend 2 USB Port Support Hi-Speed USB Device

The Universal Hub and its host of port types might be just the ticket for tablet aficionados, whether a single tablet user, multi-tablet household, or just plain undecided which tablet they think they like best.

Here’s a view of its other side. I’d say backside, but who’s to say which is which?

Note: You cannot simultaneously connect an iPad and Android tablet (perhaps due to competing device e-egos,  kind of like Lady Gaga and Madonna not being able to share a stage?) plus the hub will not charge either tablet type.
