It has been some time since I felt the need for a task light while working at my desk or at our kitchen island. The reason for that is quite simple, my house was renovated by my father-in-law, and he has a thing about putting tons of lights in any room has designs and rebuilds. Still, there are times when I really could use some easily directed light. That was the reason I took an interest in the Satechi LED Desk Lamp. This didn’t look like any desk light I had ever used, and it is not. No, the Satechi LED Desk Lamp is way better than any other desk light I have tried. Let’s take a closer look.
As Satechi explains, their desk light is “a perfect, bright companion for your desk, end table, or office”. It has easy-to-use touch screen controls situated on the base, and offers a variety of light-intensity modes and brightness levels. Add in a USB charging port on the back and you have a light that is designed for life — and work — in 2013.
The Satechi LED Desk Lamp Features:
Variety of lighting modes and brightness levels to fill any lighting need
Sleek, glossy finish looks attractive in any environment
Rear USB port to charge compatible USB devices
One-touch controls on base of lamp for ease-of-use with 1 hour auto off timer function
Bright, long-lasting LEDs for low environmental impact
For me, the USB charging port on the rear of the lamp was the feature that really drew my attention to the Satechi LED Desk Lamp. It lets the lamp be more than just a lamp. I really love the fact that you don’t need to use the USB port if you don’t want to but when you need to, it is there for the asking.
Seriously, could the desk light you used as a kid do this? I think not.
The Satechi LED Desk Lamp has a number of pivot points that not only help it fit into any desk space but also let you direct the light to illuminate the exact spot you want to enlighten.
The Satechi LED Desk Lamp has another cool trick up its articulating arm — it is a powerful but highly energy-efficient LED that “consumes only 1/8th of the power of an incandescent lamp and less than half of the power of a fluorescent lamp”. The lamp offers over 40,000 hours of lifespan and contains no mercury or other environmentally harmful substances. More than that though, the lamp offers four different illuminations settings.
There is study mode, reading mode, relaxation mode and bedtime mode, and moving from one to another is as simple as touching the lamp’s base. If that is not enough, the lamp even has a timer function that can be set to turn the lamp off after a period of inactivity.
The Satechi LED Desk Lamp is unlike any desk lamp I have ever used. It comes in shiny black or white, has an arm that is easily maneuvered into the position that best serves you and offers fours different brightness settings. Add in the timer and the USB charging port on the back and you have a desk light that will serve you quite well on multiple fronts. You can learn more and order yours here.
