Yawn … another week, another fun game from Vogat & G5 Entertainment. Of course I am joking, but it is at the point where seeing those names raises expectations. Fortunately, with Elixir: The League of Immortality they once again deliver a high quality experience with a great mix of hidden objects, puzzles and find-the-item gameplay wrapped around an engaging story.

Major features:

Elixir: The League of Immortality centers around the murder of the mayor of a small town under bizarre circumstances, which has terrified the residents. A great investigator is in charge of the case, and you help by asking questions and searching for clues.

As with many games from Vogat, there is a supernatural element, but it is much less present here than in many of their games. For me that worked better – you need to do more direct questioning of suspects and more standard investigation of areas.

But while the story and characters are interesting, the thing that I enjoyed the most was the puzzles. The game has a great mix and variety of puzzles, and all of them were at least interesting and challenging.

You will have the normal hidden object screens, where you need to locate items off of a list; items to find on normal story screens; code breakers to get you into new places; combining items or replacing items to make systems function; and on and on.

Ease of use/Overall performance:

The graphics of Elixir: The League of Immortality are solid, with HD screens and detailed graphics you would expect for a game at this point. On any compatible iPad you will get excellent performance and be able to play without issue.

Completing puzzles is a breeze between the graphics and accurate controls. There are few things more frustrating than looking at a hidden object screen and trying to figure out if you are tapping the wrong item or the game just isn’t recognizing your tap location precisely enough. Fortunately that is not an issue here!

Would use again/recommend?: Definitely! The big draw here is the variety and great design of the puzzles. And you get several hours of gameplay full of puzzles to keep you engaged, making this an easy recommendation.
