Yota 2nd Gen Smartphone

At CES last year Yota introduced their first smartphone. It was met with tremendous interest due to the dual-screen technology – full Android color display on the front, read-only e-ink screen on the rear. At MWC 2014 they just revealed the 2nd generation Yota smartphone – and it is an upgrade in every possible way!

The new Yota smartphone features a lighter and sleeker design, 5 inch 442ppi (pixels per inch, basically this is ‘Retina’-like0 AMOLED screen for the Android phone, which has 2GB RAM and 32GB storage and a quad-core processor. The E-INK display panel is a 4.7 inch touchscreen, and has a curved display. The phone supposedly has a better battery, and supports all of the standad communication protocols.

There is a lot of good stuff there, but the ability to actually interact with the E-INK display is the big one for me. What do YOU think?
