UNICEF Tap Project Gear DiaryThe UNICEF Tap Project is a fantastic program that challenges us all to go without our smartphones.  What do we get as a reward, other than the reward of unplugging itself?  Generous donors like Georgio Armani Fragrances will give one day of drinking water to a child in need for every 10 minutes we can go without our smartphones.

All you have to do is visit the UnicefTapProject.org site on your cell phone to begin.  You view the intro, which asks you to give up something far less important than drinking water, your cell phone.  Then, you click “Begin” and put your phone down…and walk away.  What a simple way to pledge your support for the millions of children around the world in need of fresh drinking water.

I'm an architect by trade, but the overarching theme of my life has always been trying to keep up with the newest, coolest technology. Ever since I picked up an NES controller, I've been hooked on the latest and greatest gadgets, gizmos, and toys. Whether it's gaming, mobile phones, and accessories, or PCs and Apple products, I'm interested. I use many Apple products in my daily life, such as the iPhone, iPad, and my MacBook Pro. I've also built a few PCs in my day, so I'd like to say that I'm a pretty well-rounded techie.
