MyTask

Smartphones are great, and for many people they replace quite a few things, from alarm clocks and day planners to cameras and GPS. But sometimes you need something more than just your phone, and the MyTask case aims to make that easier than cramming the pockets on your cargo pants. Need a pen or spoke wrench? This case has you covered.

The MyTask is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, and comes in three different versions.

The Urban includes just about anything you might need on an everyday basis: bottle opener, nail file, screwdrivers (Phillips, flathead, and eyeglass!), ruler, touchscreen stylus, an 8GB flash drive and LED light. There are also a couple of extras that could be handy in a pinch, such as scissors, mirror, and tweezers.

The Bike includes tire irons in two different sizes, a pedal and axle wrench, spoke wrenches, box wrenches, an Allen wrench, Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, and even 3 tube patches and a tire roughener, plus the de rigueur bottle opener that seems to be included in every Kickstarter these days. The bike tools are made of 440C stainless steel.

The last option is the MyTask Stash, which is a 3.5 mm accessory tray that slides out from the bottom of the case. This one doesn’t have an insert or any tools in it; it’s up to you to add your own gear, be that a tiny flash drive, loyalty cards (why aren’t these in an app on your phone?) or a single key.

The MyTask iPhone case is a cool concept, though of course it does add some thickness to your phone. If you’re the sort that likes to have every possible tool or accessory with you at all times, head on over to Kickstarter to back the campaign. Backer levels range from $30 for the MyTask Stash to $50 for the early bird edition of the Urban or Bike version all the way up to $120 for all three.
