I was impressed by the Element Case Soft-Tec Ducati Folio for iPad Air when I reviewed it last month. The folio case, which sports the co-branding of Element Case and Ducati, looks great, offers terrific protection and includes an integrated stand. Thanks to Element Case we also had a chance to check out the version for the iPad Mini.
At $69.95 the case is pricey but for your $70 you get a case that is both beautifully designed and superbly built. It strikes a great balance between being both rugged and refined. That’s no small accomplishment and no doubt having the Ducati name splashed across the front helps in the “rugged” department. That noted, if you don’t like using products that are clearly and obviously branded this is not the case for you.
Element Case uses the same Soft-Tec material we’ve seen employed in other products in the design of this case as well. And while the material is synthetic, it doesn’t feel cheap or “plastic-y”. No, the Soft-Tec material looks and feels premium. Thanks to the texture of the folio it also adds a nice bit of grip when the case is closed.

And while the Element Case Soft-Tec Ducati Folio for iPad Mini is a bit pricey — especially for a case that is 100% synthetic — it looks, feels and functions like the premium case it is. If you like Element Case’s approach to design, are a fan of Ducati and don’t mind your mobile accessories doubling as mini-billboards you will love this case. Even if, like me, you aren’t a biker and don’t love branded products there is a lot to like here. That’s why it has become one of my go-to cases!
