TYLT ENERGI 2K Travel Charger Review: Brightly Doubles Your Battery Life

Leaving aside Samsung’s cute commercial bashing iOS Device battery life, external portable battery packs are a reality of modern-day mobile living. Our devices are simply too power-hungry, and recharging on the go is a must. The TYLT ENERGI 2K Travel Charger is a stylish and convenient way to do just that. Best of all it costs under $40.I’ve been impressed by pretty much every product I’ve encountered from TYLT. I love the bright colors they use and I appreciate the unique designs they create. In a world where mobile accessories seem to look alike, this is a company that has found a way to do something that stands out. Best of all, this is a company that understands that in today’s marketplace you cannot simply offer form OR function, but you really need to find a way to have both present in each and every new product. TYLT has done just that, and this battery pack is their latest example.

TYLT ENERGI 2K Travel Charger

Here’s what the company has to say about this product:

The TYLT ENERGI 2K Travel Charger was designed to replace your standard wall charger and keep you charged all day and night no matter where you are. Simply plug the 2K into your wall and it acts like a normal USB wall charger. You can charge any device that charges via standard USB; Smartphones, Tablets, etc. The Intelligent Charging Technology prioritizes the charge to your device until your device is fully charged. It then charges the 2200mAh battery onboard. When you need it just unplug the 2K from the wall, fold down the collapsible plug and take it with you; to school, to work, on a train, on a plane, to a game, anywhere, even your couch. Now you can charge your phone anywhere while using it.

Features of the TYLT ENERGI 2K:
  • Rechargeable 2,200mAh internal battery.
  • AC prongs fold away for travel.
  • Universal USB port for charging most smartphones.
  • 1 Amp circuit rapidly charges your device.

What I like about the TYLT ENERGI 2K Travel Charger is that because it has the foldable US plug built into it this battery pack, it can replace the wall adapter many of us tend to carry in our gear bags. And because it has a 2200mAh battery built into it, while you are using the adapter to charge your device from the wall it is also replenishing its own battery. Yes, you get double the bang for your buck and because of the extra battery built into it it’s even less likely you’ll need to use the wall adapter function on the road. When you do, however, it’s there waiting for you.

This is not, however, a perfect product. I do wish it had an indicator light that show you how much remaining charge there is. And I absolutely wish it offered more than 1amp of output. But it has bright colors that look great, a design that feels modern and it is under $40. At that price you can afford to get one for every member of your household. You can learn more here.
