Type on the Move with the Logitech Keys-To-Go

Logitech describes their Logitech Keys-To-Go as the “ultra-portable, stand-alone keyboard for iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and more.” I would say that is an apt description of this sub-$80 mobile accessory. About the size of an iPad Air 2, and weighing next to nothing, the keyboard is a handy item to keep in your gear bag. That’s where mine is.

At .24” (6mm), the keyboard is remarkably thin. Measuring 5.39 long and 9.53 wide, and weighing 6.35oz, the keyboard slips into any laptop or tablet compartment with ease.

But lest you think the keys a tiny and unresponsive, they are, in fact, well-spaced and offer a surprising amount of feedback.

And because it is effectively a single sheet of FabricSkin, it is also able to handle spills, crumbs and dirt and be cleaned with just a wipe. No, these aren’t my MacBook Pro’s responsive island keys, but they are actually quite nice once you get used to them.

 

The Logitech Keys-To-Go Bluetooth keyboard even has specialty keys for media control, initiating a search, jumping to the main screen or showing fast app selection. It even lets you fire the camera with the press of a button. It is, as the company notes on the product page, “Exactly what you expect from a Logitech keyboard.”

The keyboard connects via Bluetooth and can run for up to three months on a charge. The microUSB port and power switch sit toward the back of the right side of the keyboard. And, of course, the keyboard ships with a USB to microUSB cable so you can charge it from a computer or with a USB wall adapter. (It does not ship with one.)

Logitech Keys-To-Go is,”the super slender, über handy, ultra-portable, fit anywhere, go everywhere keyboard.” It is thinner and lighter than any tablet keyboard I have tried and yet is enjoyable to use when you need to write more than a few lines of text on a tablet. It took me a bit to get used to the keys but before I knew it I was typing with decent speed and accuracy on it.
