Reaching its Kickstarter goal in 16 hours, ZEROHOUR‘s RELIC XR Tactical LED Flashlight was quite literally, an overnight success.  This kickass-looking device is a USB rechargeable flashlight and waterproof battery backup in one.  Not only is this flashlight waterproof, it’s constructed with aircraft aluminum.  There’s still time to pledge at least $120 to secure your own at their Kickstarter campaign.

RELIC XR Cover

The RELIC XR is powered by a crazy powerful 1000 lumen LED, which can be fully dialed between 0 and 1000 lumens with a ring on the exterior of the flashlight depending on how bright you need the flashlight to be.  Inside the RELIC XR, there’s a removable 3,400 mAh rechargeable battery that can be used not only to power the flashlight itself, but also charge other devices like cell phones.  The RELIC XR also accepts CR123 batteries, which is helpful in case your rechargeable battery isn’t fully charged in case of an emergency…you’ll just need to remember to have the CR123’s on-hand.

This looks to be a serious tactical flashlight that can be used for many things including home security, hiking, camping, or even to keep in your car in case of emergencies.  I know that this would end up being my go-to flashlight at my house.

Stay tuned to Gear Diary for our full review once production starts on the RELIC XR, which is anticipated to be in May 2015.
