Nike+ for Apple Watch

With Spring in full bloom, a lot of people are looking forward to keeping fit and staying healthy. The Nike+ Running app has announced they will release an app for the Apple Watch when released on April 24th (With preorders on April 10th).

“We want people to be healthier by being more active,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in the presentation. “[Apple Watch] tracks daily movement, how long you’re exercising and even reminds you if you’ve been sitting too long. Apple Watch will also send you reminders to be more active. In fact, on a Monday, it will send you a report on previous week and help you set goals for the next week. It’s like having a coach on your wrist.”

The Nike+ application will feature the ability to allow users to access distance, duration and pace on the smartwatch, encouraging them to run smarter, more often. Also, the watch will enable friends to track each other’s progress as well as cheer your buddy on via the Nike+ global running community, as well as through actionable notifications. Bluetooth runners will be happy to know the upcoming app will allow runners to listen to music, calls, and cheers from friends through the watch. Vice President of Nike+ Stefan Olander stated, “We took the best of Nike+ Running and build a seamless experience for Apple Watch customers.” For more information on the app, visit them at Nike.com.
