The OLIVERS Brief Will Let You "Think Outside the Boxer"

I’ve backed some great- and some not so great- products on Kickstarter. This time out is something that I think will stand out from the crowd. No, it’s not a tech project but rather it is a clothing project that brings technical know-how to an everyday garment. The OLIVERS Brief promises to be an uber-comfy boxer brief.

As the project page explains,

“The cotton boxer brief is a relic, badly in need of an update. There’s good news, however – we spent the past year building the perfect replacement.”

The fact is, cotton is a terrible performance fabric and is far from ideal when it comes to undergarments. Despite this reality it remains the default material used in creating most boxer brief. The problem is that:

That’s where the OLIVERS Brief comes in.

So the folks at San Franscisco-based OLIVERS went in search of a better mousetrap. First they found a special material that would work better. The fabric they found was first developed for the military and offers a soft, plush hand feel for maximum comfort. They then set out to design a boxer brief that will offer as much comfort and support as possible. The result is the OLIVERS Brief. It is a Kickstarter project that has already passed its initial goal four times over.

At $30 a pair- a 21% discount over the retail price- the boxers aren’t inexpensive. Then again, can you really put a price on comfort?
