The SpiderPro Hand Strap is the Best Camera Accessory on the Market

The SpiderPro Hand Strap is a breakthrough product in the photography market. It’s an ergonomically designed hand strap that hugs your hand and allows you to comfortably hold your professional DSLR camera while taking photos, adjusting camera settings, or while looking for the perfect shot. The totally adjustable SpiderPro Hand Strap is brand new and retails for $65.

The SpiderPro Hand Strap is fully customizable for any size hand and any professional-type DSLR or film camera body. The Hand Strap is connected to the camera at the eyelet where the neck strap is typically connected as well as at the bottom of the camera through the screw mount where tripod plates are attached. The beautiful thing about the SpiderPro Hand Strap is that it’s fully universal and you can use ANY tripod plate with their strap. Fortunately, the kind folks at Spider Holster provided their SpiderPro Holster with included plate for my use. You can tighten or loosen the hand strap by adjusting the strap before tightening the tripod plate. You can also customize your fit by angling the strap before tightening as well.

The SpiderPro is meant to be perfectly ergonomic, as it’s designed to place the weight of the camera on the right place in your hand; over and above your knuckles and close to your wrist. It’s curved shape puts your hand in the perfect position, allowing you to hit the shutter as well as access the camera controls. Here are some quick features that everyone, including professionals, will love about the SpiderPro Hand Strap:

  • Adjustable to any size wrist.
  • Compatible with extended battery pack/vertical grips.
  • Puts your hand in a perfect shooting position.
  • Compatible with any tripod or Spider plate.

The SpiderPro Hand Strap is made out of proprietary materials including genuine leather, memory foam, and a luxurious feeling velour-type lining. As soon as I took it out of the bag, I noticed that it felt like a camera accessory made for professionals and made to last. Even the included wrist strap, that adds additional security if you feel like the camera is going to slip out of your hand, is made of genuine pillow-soft leather.

I was really impressed at how easy the hand strap was to install on my camera. It took about 5 minutes to remove my standard neck strap and install and adjust the hand strap to my liking. I was able to quickly and easily figure out how the wrist strap worked and it took me about 10 more minutes of playing with it to realize just how groundbreaking this product could be for professionals and photography enthusiasts.

I was lucky enough to be able to test out the SpiderPro Hand Strap at a real family event, my wife’s grandfather’s 95th birthday party. I was carrying my camera around an indoor/outdoor restaurant, taking photos of family, and showing off this new accessory to my brother and sister-in-law who happen to be professional photographers. My brother-in-law even commented on how he used to wrap the neck strap around his hand to accomplish something like this, and that this was the perfect solution. Long story, short, they loved the hand strap, but this is MY review, not theirs.

Carrying my Nikon D3000 with the SpiderPro Hand Strap was a dream come true. I didn’t have something dangling around my neck, and my camera was always at-the-ready when there was a photo to be shot. The hand strap never felt uncomfortable, and always felt secure, even without the wrist strap attachment. The luxurious and velvety fabric inside the hand strap made it feel like the camera was being supported by a cloud that was hugging my hand.

I can’t say enough good things about the SpiderPro Hand Strap. I was able to reach all of the camera’s controls, access the battery door, access the memory card slot, and most importantly, reach the shutter. I will be using my SpiderPro Hand Strap for years to come and can’t be more thrilled about it.

The ONLY downside to this hand strap that I can see is that if you will be carrying around the camera for a long time, the weight may get bothersome. But that’s where the SpiderPro Holster comes in! The SpiderPro Holster is a holster that wraps around your waist to hold your camera when it’s not in use. The SpiderPro Holster has a metal plate on it that catches the metal ball on the Spider plate and keeps it perfectly secure with no fear of a fallen camera. While it may be overkill for me, a once-in-a-while family photographer, it would be a perfect solution for photography professionals or enthusiasts.  Fortunately, Spider Holster also has the Black Widow, which is a waist holster system that’s designed specifically for smaller DSLRs and point-and-shoot cameras for those hobbyists who are looking for a more lightweight solution that provides the same basic functionality as the SpiderPro Holster.
