This is my iPad Air 2; there are others like it, but this one is mine. In its natural state, my iPad has no screen cover, nor does it have scratch protection on the back. I can hold it in my hand, but I can’t stand it up for viewing or easier data entry without propping it against something.

This is the Moshi VersaCover for the iPad Air 2. Not only does it provide scratch protection on the back, it has a flip cover that protects the front; the cover can also be folded along pre-set lines to prop my iPad up vertically, horizontally, and at a convenient height for typing on the onscreen keyboard.

Composed of a polycarbonate back with a microfiber front, the VersaCover comes in four colors, and they are available for every iPad and iPad mini model, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.

The exterior cover of the VersaCover looks like a coated linen surface, and the underside is gray microfiber; the cover is dirt and fingerprint resistant, and the pre-set lines that it will fold upon look something like the side of an Imperial TIE Fighter.

Am I right? 😉

The polycarbonate shell that serves as an iPad case is slightly frosted but still see-through. A silver “moshi” plaque on the back is the only branding.

The iPad fits snugly inside the case; I have a Bodyguardz skin on mine, and it still fits perfectly inside the shell.

Did you notice the two little dots on the inside of the cover? They are there to help remind you of how to bring the parts of the cover together to create various levels stands.

Depending upon how you fold the origami-like cover, you can create stands that will hold the iPad vertically for Facetime or reading, raised horizontally for watching video, or at an angle for comfortable typing on the iPad’s screen.

The Moshi VersaCover is attractive, protective, and easy to manipulate into whatever size stand you might want it to be. Magnets hold the cover in place, and they also activate the iPad’s screen when lifted. This is probably my favorite iPad cover at the moment; it doesn’t add a lot of bulk, but it does add a lot of functionality.

The Moshi iPad Air 2 VersaCover retails for $59.95, and it is available directly from the manufacturer and from other retailers.
