The Flashlight:

A flashlight has one basic job – provide light on demand. It needs to be at least somewhat portable, but beyond that there isn’t much else required. Anything else is just added value.

The lighting modes include flashlight, strobe and SOS mode. Within the flashlight mode you get three brightness levels that make a huge difference and are all very functional.

OxyLED MD50 Flashlight Review

The zoom function is simply incredible – you go from a massive field to a tight spot that is basically just the LED panel in a easy and smooth sweep of the lens section that can be done one-handed if needed.

I loved the fact that you get a rechargeable battery and the ability to use disposable batteries with the included adapter. This allows for great flexibility and prevents the MD50 from becoming a ‘deadweight’ on an extended trip.

The new LED flashlights have completely changed the game for home and outdoors, we no longer have a string of lousy flashlights that are dim and occasionally don’t work for unknown reasons. We just have a few small, bright, long-lasting LED flashlights that meet all of our needs. On a recent camping trip, the MD50 was a key companion at night, allowing us to find our way around in the dark without disturbing other campers.

Here is my hands-on video of the OxyLED MD50 Flashlight:

With the $39.99 OxyLED MD50 (on sale for $19.99 as this review is published), there is a ton of added value as shown in the video review. You get three different lighting modes and a zoom feature with an incredible range. The power button is simple to operate and the tight water-resistant seal actually helps provide a solid package that remains functional and flexible!
