On a train down to Washington a few weeks ago, I pulled out the review sample of the Club Life Adagio Dual Driver In-Ear Headphones with Mic that had just arrived. They are one of three pair of headphones from Audibly we will be reviewing. My companion laughed and told me he had just bought a pair and loves them.

The headphones are the result of a partnership between the DJ Tiesto and Audibly and are one of three offerings in their ClubLife lineup. They explain the partnership this way:

By partnering with Audiofly, Tiësto has drawn on a company whose expertise in product design and audio engineering sits atop the industry. Audiofly has established a reputation for creating products with detailed sound and outstanding frequency response across all audio spectrums. The result of this partnership is something truly remarkable: “The Clublife In-Ear Headphones Series,” proudly manufactured by Audiofly to Tiësto’s specifications.

The Clublife Adagio headphones are about as well-designed as any in-ear headphones I have tried. The stereo jack is gold-plated and the cable is a strong braided fabric that avoids tangling.

The left earbud cable has a music and call control that includes a microphone for making calls and controlling your music. The outside of each earbud has Tiësto’s bird logo.

The point where the cable splits into two also has the logo. It looks pretty great!!

The earphones ship with small, medium, or large silicone or memory foam ear tips and a nice carry pouch that screams quality.

The earpieces themselves are impressive in their design. They are solid but not too heavy and angled at about 45 degrees from the earbud. The result is a comfortable fit that doesn’t cause much ear fatigue even over extended periods of wear. Because of the angle there is a right way and a wrong way to wear the earphones — as in, “the left earbud goes in the left ear” and “the right earbud goes in the right ear.” Thankfully they are stamped with L and R on the inside. As a bonus there are raised bumps on the right earpiece spelling R in braille for those who are sight challenged.

The inline control is a simple affair. To answer or end an incoming call you simply press the button once. To send to voicemail you press and hold the button got a few seconds. Controlling you music is equally easy and straightforward. A short press lets you play/pause. Two presses skips to the next track. Three presses goes to the previous song. A long hold of the button lets you access voice control such as Siri. It worked well on my iPhone 6S.

The Clublife Adagio headphones feature:

The Clublife Adagio headphones are amazingly comfortable to wear. The build-quality is second to none and, most importantly, they sound fantastic. Seriously, they sound as good as any in-ear headphones I have tried in recent memory. And while they are available in black or red at an MSRP of $149.99, you can get them for significantly less on Amazon. Learn more here on the product page.
