Ventev has been rolling out some thoughtfully designed and ever-so-useful external batteries. One of their latest is the Ventev Powercell 6000c Battery Charger with Lightning Cable. It packs a large battery into a slim attractive design, has a standard USB port, AND a permanently connected Lightning Connector and you have something that deserves a place in your gear bag.
Ventev products have really upped their game on multiple levels. That extends to the packaging which is not only protective of the product while in transit, it can hang nicely in a retail store but most importantly, can open easily. I appreciate not having to risk slashing my hand open just to get at a product.

With this battery you can charge two devices at once. The two charging methods take very different approaches. First there is a Lightning connector that offers an output of 2.4A. that means it will charge your iPhone or iPad with speed. Then there is the 1A USB output. The fullsized USB port means you can connect any charging cable for pretty much any mobile device.
The battery has a slim, compact design that is perfect for slipping into your gear bag and ideal for travel. It is wrapped in a metal skin the covers the top, bottom, front, and back in a single sheet of smooth metal. This gives is a classy and refined look and feel. The Ventev name is placed on the lower left portion of the battery. It’s obvious but not obnoxious.
Next to the fullsize USB port is a microUSB port. Using the included USB to microUSB port you can charge the powercell in just 4-5 hours.
On the top of the battery is the power button and four LED power indicator lights.
Press it once and you can see how much of a charge you have. Push and hold the button and, if a device is connected, it will begin to charge.
On one side of the battery you will find the Lightning cable and connector. It sits flush with the battery and, when in use, delivers the aforementioned rapid charge.
It is a great way to always know you have a cable with you when you are out and about.

The Powercell 6000c has an MSRP of $69.99. I really like the way the company has upped game with regard to style. This is one of the more refined external batteries that I have seen. The metal that wraps around the battery gives it an incredibly sleek look and feel that screams quality. This is what we have come to expect from Ventev products. Initially, however, they were far more utilitarian in their design but that is clearly changing. Add in the fact that there is a 6000 mA hour battery inside of this and the fact that it has a permanently affixed quick lightning charge port and you have something which is a great battery for keeping in your travel bag or your gear bag. In fact, if you are looking for one battery to carry this is definitely a good option.

What Needs Improvement: People who like batteries that also includes a flashlight will be disappointed; 6000 mA hour battery is large but not the biggest we’ve seen.
