Has Windows 10 Ruined My Kool-Aid?

Everyone who knows me and my tech preferences know me as an Apple guy. Some say I have drank the proverbial Kool-Aid. Other than work, I have used Apple products exclusively for almost a decade. A recent review by Judie persuaded me to jump back into the world of Windows. The jump has been surprisingly good!

I became interested in using a 2-in-1 machine mainly so I can use the tablet mode to draw during football season. Since I use up to three spiral notebooks a season working on game plans, I thought it could be a great way to upgrade my work flow. The HP Pavilion 12×2 has proven to be a great option for this task along with the HP active pen, but something else happened.

While I have had two versions of the iPad, I have never been much for using one. Whether iOS or Android, using a tablet has always left me wanting more, and I have learned that what I do not like is a mobile operating system on anything but a phone; otherwise, I preferred a traditional laptop. Sure, I may sound like an old tech curmudgeon, but finding this out is like rediscovering the tablet experience.

There is still plenty of love for my Mac Mini and Macbook Air, but in the last couple of weeks, they have both gathered some dust. Windows 10 has seemed to solve a problem that has always plagued me; the OS can be used in both laptop and tablet mode seamlessly. The same apps and same experience work regardless of how I use this device. It is what I always wished MacOS would be and for hundreds of dollars less.

There are a few tasks I am currently working on finding the best way to accomplish, and I am sure there will be more, but so far, it has been worth the search. When I solve video and photo editing, there is a chance I may not look back. I can now carry one device to take care of all of my uses, and I did this for under $500!

For anyone that would like to not carry around multiple devices, or who does not like a mobile OS in tablet form, I highly recommend you try a Windows 10 2-in-1 device. There are many options at a variety of price points. If I can be this happy at an entry-level price, there should be something for everyone. Yes, my Kool-Aid is officially ruined!
