I recently reviewed the commuter series pack from Exos-Gear and have enjoyed using it with my every day computer gear. The company also has a tactical style backpack called the Bravo Series, which retails for $37.95. While I had planned on using the backpack as my new shooting bag, I actually found an unintended use that works out great.
At first look, you can see the Bravo Series has the usual tactical look with the military spec MOLLE system and desert tan colors. The backpack is also packed with great features and has become my outdoor camera pack. I was recently looking for a larger case for my GoPro and had the idea to use this Exos-Gear Bravo Series backpack to become my camera carrier. I have since loaded all of my GoPro gear, Canon DSLR with lenses, and my video camera. I could not have found a better backpack for all of my gear!
As I mentioned above, the Bravo Series backpack sports military spec MOLLE system which is a webbing system of 1″ x 1″ spaced locations to attach compatible pouches and accessories. I do not have any of the accessories yet, but plan on getting a few that help carry my camera gear. There is also a 3″ x 2″ velcro pad for attaching embroidered and PVC patches. Of course, I am sporting two Texas Custom Rifles patches on my pack.
When I initially saw the price of this backpack, I was curious how rugged it would be. The shell is made of 600 Denier Polyester which basically feels like tough canvas. The stitching looks durable and there is extra reinforcement at high pressure points. My first impression when picking up this pack was that it is for sure rugged and perfect for the outdoors. I look to get years of use from it.
Another external feature of the Exos-Gear Bravo Series are the strap retention system. There are two straps on each side and one on the top that can help size the pack correctly. Each strap can be tucked away which avoids an annoying strap flop that could be a problem with this many customizable straps. I like all of the straps as well as the ability to hide the extra material.
The inside of the backpack contains four pockets. The main compartment is furthest back and provides the most space at 18″ x 10″ x 5″. It includes a zipper pouch as well as a netted pouch for extra space. There is also a velcro cover on the top of the pack that opens into this pocket allowing for a hydration system. The secondary compartment is slightly smaller at 16″ x 9″ x 3″ and also includes an extra pocket. The front of the backpack includes two more compartments that are stacked on top of each other. The top is 5″ x 8″ x 3″ and the bottom measures 10″ x 8″ x 3″. When you add all of these compartments together, a lot of gear can be comfortably carried.
As you can see, whether you are looking for a tactical backpack or simply a roomy and rugged pack for the outdoors, the Exos-Gear Bravo Series is perfect. The backpack comes in Coyote Tan (pictured), black, olive drab, and gray. The fabric is light to carry, but tough enough for years of use in the outdoors. The breathable material on contact points makes the pack comfortable to carry and the strap system allows it to be fit perfectly for hiking or long walks. I am literally carrying every piece of camera equipment I own in this backpack and plan on taking it to the Grand Canyon later this summer. For $37.95, you absolutely cannot go wrong and will not be disappointed with the Exos-Gear Bravo Series backpack. Go check them out at Tactical Intent!

What I like: This is a really rugged tactical backpack for a really low price. I love it!
What can be improved: The only thing I can add to it is my own MOLLE system accessories.
