Galaxy Note 7 Recall: More Information Soon

If you haven’t yet heard, Samsung earlier today issued a global recall for certain Galaxy Note 7 models. Reportedly the issue is with the batteries, which could overheat and possibly cause a fire. According to Samsung, there have been 35 reports of overheating and while not all device batteries are impacted they have recalled them all out of caution.

“To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.”

“For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.”

More information is coming soon about the recall and whether your exact model of battery/Note 7 will be impacted. Carriers online appear to still have the phone for sale, though they probably are placing any orders into a backorder status pending a final resolution to the battery recall.
