I arrived home from work recently to discover a UPS delivery box on my porch from Urban Armor Gear. Inside were the new Monarch Series phone cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Fortunately, the cases fit on 6 and 6S series phones as well so I was able to put one to the test.

I haven’t fully decided on which new 7 series iPhone I will end up purchasing so I am content to stay with my iPhone 6 for now. The Monarch Series case slipped right over my phone and all outlets, buttons, and accessories were usable, including my now-antiquated 3.5mm headphone jack. The new UAG case fit perfectly and snugly and I really like the graphite and black finish. The case for the iPhone 7 Plus was done in platinum and black and is very attractive, but I prefer the lower sheen of the graphite finish. The Monarch Series cases offer six-sided protection for your new phone and are constructed to 2X MIL-SPEC Drop-Test standards.
Inside the armor frame ribbing on the rear of the case is top-grain leather inserts, all of which wraps up a polycarbonate shear plate and armor shell with impact-resistant rubber around the border, also featuring a honeycomb traction grip. The case is relatively light and easy to handle. Despite its protective quality and materials, the case is not overly bulky. It does slide a little on slick surfaces but grips to any surface with some friction. And I found out the UAG Monarch Series case is teething resistant after I caught our little granddaughter gnawing on last weekend.
