Why does your child need an Ironman or Captain America alarm clock? Why not. To bring the characters to life you simply download the free App Dudes iOS or Android app on your smartphone, select Full or Sleep Mode, and away you go. In Full Mode the Marvel character will speak to your child with more than 50 phrases and animations while the characters can also react to touch and tilting of the screen for more interactivity.
I fired up the Ironman version from App Dudes in Full Mode and handed it to the grandsons. I was surprised there was no fighting over the toy right away but we quickly realized our guys wanted more phrases and more interactivity. They would like the unit (app) to respond to their voice commands as well. Perhaps you can work on that in future upgrades.
The Sleep Mode reduces unit functions to an alarm clock and Ironman’s mask provides a dimmed nightlight feature as well. Seeing the Super Heroes’ mask watching over them may provide your child with some added comfort that the App Dudes device will help fend off whatever goes bump in the night.
The App Dudes Smartphone Stand is available on Amazon.com or through the company website www.AppDudes.com at suggested retail of $19.99. It works with most of the standard sized smartphones on the market today. Your mobile device slides in from the top and there is a slot at the rear of the App Dudes unit for charging cord.
