Speck’s new Presidio line offers impressive drop protection while only adding minimal bulk to your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. The Presidio cases are made with a polycarbonate outer-layer and a layer of Speck’s own shock-absorbent rubber called Impactium on the interior of the case. Speck’s Presidio cases are available in a number of finishes and start at $44.95.

Speck was kind enough to send us two Presidio cases for the iPhone 7 Plus, the Presidio Grip and the Presidio Clear + Print. These cases are both impressively slim and light with a high-quality build and feel. And as with all Speck cases, they are covered by Speck’s limited lifetime warranty.

The Presidio Grip is solid black, with raised rubber ridges for a better grip. This case has the standard Presidio construction of polycarbonate on the outside and Impactium on the inside. All of the ports are well protected and the buttons are covered by the polycarbonate for additional protection. The buttons have great feel though, and it does not appear that the case affects use of the buttons at all. The Presidio Grip also has a raised bezel, so it protects the screen from drops and scratches. The Presidio Grip fits my iPhone 7 Plus perfectly, there is no wiggle at all inside the case.

The Presidio Grip has been drop-tested from up to 10 feet, that’s TEN FEET. That’s incredibly impressive for such a slim, lightweight case. The Presidio Grip weighs only 1.5 ounces, which is perfect for those of us who want to protect their phones without much added weight. Speck added a very small engraved logo on the top-right of the rear of the case.

The Presidio Grip is available in the following colors: Black/Black, White/Ash Grey, Graphite Grey/Charcoal Grey, Twilight Blue/Marine Blue, Lipstick Pink/Shocking Pink, and Whisper Purple/Lilac Purple.

The Presidio Clear + Print is similar to the rest of the Presidio line in its construction, however it has a clear finish with a beautiful print on the rear. It fits my iPhone 7 Plus perfectly and protects all ports, camera lenses, and buttons very well while being very thin and light.

The Presidio Clear + Print has been drop-tested up to 8 feet, which is extremely impressive for this type of case. The Presidio Clear + Print weighs only 1.5 ounces, the same as the Presidio Grip. Also similar to the Grip, the Clear + Print has an engraved Speck logo on the top-right of the rear of the case.

The Presidio Clear + Print is available with the following prints: Golden Blossoms Pink/Clear, Showy Feather Gold/Clear, Country Rose Pink/Clear, Etched Dot Silver/Clear, Peacock Plume Blue/Clear, Brilliant Butterflies Rose Gold/Clear.

It’s become obvious to me that Speck’s Impactium rubber makes a difference here, because I haven’t seen many cases this thin and light that are drop tested to these heights.

Speck’s Presidio lineup for iPhone 7 is remarkable due to their minimal size and weight as compared to the great drop-resistance of the cases. I generally prefer smaller cases and have gotten used to compromising protection for size, but you don’t have to make that choice with the Speck Presidio line of cases. These cases are highly recommended.

The Speck Presidio cases are available for both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and can be purchased directly from Speck at their website.
