One of the things that I used do when packing to go overseas was to make sure that I had my collection of plug adapters and a bulky international power strip ready to go; these days I just make sure that I have the Oneadaptr Twist+ World Adapter DUO.
The Twist+ World Adapter DUO allows you to charge any MacBook as well as up to three other items. It attaches to the power cable portion of the Apple MacBook power adapter, and it has a maximum 3.4-Amp dual USB charger that you can use for your tablet and phone, and it also has a universal AC outlet that you can use with a traditional cable for yet another electronic device.
Measuring approximately 3.5″ long by 3″ long (on the fattest end) by 2.25″ thick, the Twist+ World Adapter DUO weighs 6.2 ounces. It’s composed of matte milky white ABS plastic with orange accents.
The orange button on the side is not a power button; it gets pressed so that you can twist the middle band, which exposes the various international plugs held on the backside.
With just the two high-speed USB ports and the multi-port pass-through outlet on the front, the Twist+ World Adapter DUO would already be pretty handy, but it also has a MacBook power adapter on the bottom so that you can attach your power brick.
The Twist+ World Adapter DUO has built-in fuse protection, and it is designed to use with the Apple MagSafe 1 &2 adapter, 17W Dual USB Adapter, and any other Apple Portable Power Adapters.
You may recall that I reviewed the Oneadaptr Twist Plus World Charging Station a couple of years ago; it is still serving me well, and there are a few differences between the two that I think are worth pointing out. For one thing, the Twist+ World Adapter DUO adds the extra international outlet on the front, but the other obvious difference is that there are four USB ports on the ($44.99) Twist Plus World Charging Station. I suppose it’s up to you which will work better for you, but it’s worth looking at the different specs to see which will better suit your needs.

I like how the Oneadaptr Twist+ World Adapter DUO adds the ability to use a traditional power plug on its pass-through outlet front; I usually travel with at least one non-USB powered device, so this means one less cord adapter that I need to pack. While the Twist+ is a little larger than a traditional plug adapter, it’s ability to charge up to four devices (including my MacBook) at once more than makes up for that. It fits just fine in the bottom of my backpack, and I’m able to leave my power strip at home because of it, and that frees up a lot of room in my carry-on. I should point out that even though the Oneadaptr Twist products are made of ABS plastic, the Twist Plus World Charging Station has held up for several years and many international trips; I expect that will also be true with the Oneadaptr Twist+ World Adapter DUO.
