Click & Grow Creates an Affordable DIY Indoor Garden

If you like the Click & Grow way of doing things, but you aren’t sure if you want to invest in their Herb Garden, then you might want to check out their new DIY Indoor Garden. At $29.99, it’s a great way to get started with indoor gardening!

What do you get for $29.99? The kit includes “9 plant cups with a wick that draws the exact right amount of water into the cup when submerged.”

You can use the materials of your choice to hold the plant cups — anything from LEGOs, to jars, to coffee cans, to egg cartons. You’ll need to either add compact fluorescent lighting or place your plant on a sunny windowsill, and with that, you’ll have a custom miniature greenhouse.

While no cords or power are technically needed, the plant cups do contain Click & Grow’s NASA-inspired Smart Soil technology, which creates the ideal environment for plants to use less water and result in more nutrient-dense food.

Your DIY garden’s only limitation is your imagination and skill; whether you want to grow chili peppers or basil, you can do it!

To gather some initial inspiration on how to great your garden, watch this YouTube on how we built this garden in just 12 minutes. To learn more about Click & Grow’s inspiration for this idea, please check out our blog post here.

I’m a huge fan of Click & Grow; I backed both their Smart Herb Garden and their Smart Garden 9 on Kickstarter, and I can’t imagine not having fresh basil or lavender, or the occasional mini tomatoes without the Herb Garden (I’m still waiting on the Smart Garden 9).
