Moshi IonSlim 5k Battery Pack is an ultra-slim rechargeable battery back; if you’re constantly dealing with your device having a low battery, then this may be the battery pack that you should always have with you.
We’ve covered plenty of portable chargers here at Gear Diary, including Moshi’s own IonBank 10k battery pack a few months ago. But for those of you who might not need that much juice in your back pocket, you should really check out the more slender 5000mAh IonSlim 5K by Moshi. One of the few battery packs out there on the market that embraces being charged by USB-C, the IonSlim 5k features both USB-C and USB-A ports so there’s virtually nothing that isn’t compatible with it.
Made of anodized aluminum, the Moshi IonSlim 5k Battery Pack build quality is everything you’d expect from Moshi, and measuring only 8.5mm thick, it’s hard to believe you’ll actually receive close to two charges for an iPhone 7 out of this battery pack.
Unlike most battery packs that can be a burden sitting in your pocket next to a charging device, the IonSlim 5k can comfortably sit in your back pocket with ease without any additional bulge. I think the only thing missing from the IonSlim series would be an integrated cable. Despite that, you get fast charging if your device is compatible with it, with an output of 15 watts which you would never expect from looking at its thin profile.
And just to think… the Moshi IonSlim 5k Battery Pack is only $54.95 on their site, which is modest especially considering you’re getting, including its own USB-C to USB-A cable that Moshi supplies so you wouldn’t have to purchase it separately. You will have to purchase a USB-C to USB-C cable if you decided to go that route according to your devices, but fortunately, Moshi supplies that as well at an additional price.
