A couple of years ago we brought you our first impressions of the all-new third-generation Hyundai Tucson crossover utility vehicle. For 2017, Hyundai has added the limited production Night model. Night adds a new blackout monotone appeal to the Tucson lineup for those seeking a bit more style with their substance.

Our first impressions of the new Tucson put it at the top of its class for compact cute utes, that is until corporate sibling Kia brought its latest CUV to market last year. The corporate cousins offer some of the best value in the segment today with the Kia edging out Hyundai in the power ratings. Special editions such as the Night seek to offset some of that pull in the Kia showroom and after spending a week in the new Tucson Night I will give the nod back to Hyundai.

The Tucson Night offers a special monotone trim and wheel appearance to really stand out in a crowd. The Night package also delivers a panoramic sunroof along with dark, black-tinted glass for a blackout look. The 19-inch RAYS matte black wheels truly dress the side view of the Tucson Night and inside drivers will enjoy aluminum alloy pedals along with perforated leather steering wheel. And that Caribbean Blue model-specific paint is just stunning.
