I had a DSLR. It was great, but I sold it. I had a small, mirrorless camera. It was awesome, but I sold it. Honestly, as a blogger and casual photographer, the iPhone’s camera is more than enough for my needs. To get the most out of iPhone-ography, however, you need to carry some accessories. Enter the Waterfield Camera Bag.
The Waterfield camera Bag comes in either premium full grain leather or ballistic nylon. The nylon bag has an MSRP of $99 while the leather bag has an MSRP of $129. And while that may sound a bit pricey, considering the fact that Waterfield bags last forever, you would do well to think of this as an investment rather than a simple purchase.

The bag is designed to carry just enough of your iPhone camera gear. That’s why it has a diminutive size of just 8″ L x 3″ W x 4″ H.
The nylon version weighs 6 oz. While, as you might expect, the leather version is a bit heavier coming in at 8 oz. That is enough space to carry an iPhone 8, iPhone X or similar-sized phones, an external battery pack, up to 4 lenses, lens attachments and a mini tripod.
Inside the bag is a soft-lined interior and adjustable dividers so you can carry up to 4 lenses. At the rear is a special pocket designed to hold and protect a phone as large as the iPhone X as well as a battery. A small zippered mesh pocket sits just under the flap and can be used to hold small items.
The adjustable dividers can be used as shipped, re-configured for your specific needs, or entirely removed.
No matter which option you choose, the dense foam used throughout the bag will guarantee the gear you keep inside is kept safe.
At the bottom of the bag are elastic straps which expand to securely hold a mini-tripod.
I played around with some of the items I might want to carry and ended up using it to hold a light, a lapel microphone, a remote shutter control and an iPhone holder with cold shoes in mine with room to spare if I decide to throw in some lenses.
At the bottom, I keep a selfie-stick/tripod for added flexibility when taking pictures. If I need to take pictures I simply remove the two parts of the selfie-stick/tripod, connect them and attach the iPhone holder that is inside the bag. In all, it takes about thirty seconds to set it up or break it down.
The bag ships with an adjustable shoulder strap that can be quickly attached or removed from the strap attachments on either side of the bag.
And for those times when you need the bag with you but don’t want to deal with the straps, the bag also has leather belt loops in the back so you can “wear” it.
Now I have to admit, I’ve tried “wearing” the bag by attaching it to my belt, but it looked a bit too much like a fanny pack. That noted, however, if you want to keep your gear with you and need to ensure it is safe; you might want to get past any fanny pack concerns you might have. After all… this isn’t a fashion show. It is about keeping your gear safe, secure and available. Moreover, I had fanny packs when I was a kid, and none of them looked as good or were built as well as this bag.
