We received a pair to check out, and over the past few days they have held up impressively for hours of podcasts and music. Currently available for $99.99, the Zolo Liberty feature a graphene-coated driver that allows you to hear your music crystal clear across all frequencies, and unlike some earbuds that can cost upwards of $300, I haven’t had a single problem with the headphones cutting out mid-song, or being choppy when my smartphone is in my pocket.

The packaging for the Zolo Liberty is about as simple as you can get with the main attraction being the included charging that case that allows you to get a total of 24 hours of power, according to Anker. When in use, you’ll get roughly 3.5 hours of listening on a single charge and in practice, that held to be true. That’s one great thing I’ve noticed about not just the Zolo Liberty’s, but all of Anker’s products just seem to work directly out of the box.

Setup is about as simple as you can get with the Zolo Liberty, taking just a press of each earbud while sitting next to your Bluetooth-enabled device to connect and almost immediately you can start listening. Once you do this though, the audio experience is fantastic. I did notice one thing in terms of connectivity that reminds me of my Airpods, which is once you pull the earbuds out of the carrying case and place them into your ears, you don’t have to actually press buttons after the first initial setup. You simply put them in your ear, and close the case door and voila, connected to your phone.

If you live an active lifestyle, you’ll be happy to know that the Liberty have a sweatproof casing that is resistant to sweat and water. The fit in my ears was perfect, no moving around when doing exercises where your head moves a bit. Luckily Anker included extra GripFit jackets and two other sizes of Eartips (Small and Large; Medium come installed) on top of a Micro-USB cable to charge the charging case.

If you speak to Siri or Google Assistant, you’ll be happy the Zolo Liberty will allow you to interact with your favorite personal assistant by pressing either on the left, or right ear of your Liberty’s. This is great for when you’re out and about and just don’t want to pull out your phone and take off your gloves, especially in the colder months.

  1. Hey Greg. Curious what you think of the microphone on these? When you make calls, do people have any trouble hearing you?
