Sleep is very important. That’s pretty much non-negotiable for just about everyone, but many of us spend more money on a phone case than we do on pillows and other sleep accessories. A good pillow is the difference between healthy sleep and a miserable night, and the Snuggle-Pedic believes it is that pillow!

Snuggle-Pedic is a shredded memory foam pillow; this means it is more malleable than a straight hunk of foam. Despite that, it still holds shape well and bounces back from pressure. That way your pillow doesn’t have a head shaped dent after long use. The company states because it is both firm and malleable, it works for back, side, and stomach sleepers. Snuggle-Pedic also has a bamboo cover, and there are holes punched into the foam to make it stay cooler.

These are all great features, and certainly better than bargain memory foam pillows, but it’s the extras that make Snuggle-Pedic stand out. The cover is removable, so it is easy to clean. They offer a 20 year warranty and a 90 day trial period. But what really jumps out is that they will customize a pillow for free if it doesn’t work out of the box. Basically, if you like the pillow but needed it tweaked in some way, Snuggle-Pedic will work with you to make that happen. Not many companies in general will go to this much trouble, and it is certainly not something you generally see from a pillow!

So, with all this background and buildup, how is the pillow itself? In a word, fantastic. It is super comfortable and really does conform to your body. I’ve slept on cheaper memory foam pillows where it feels like you are in a constant battle with the pillow-you settle in, the pillow bounces back, rinse and repeat. The Snuggle-Pedic has just enough give to make you comfy without pushing back at you.

I am a side sleeper, and generally can sleep on any pillows, but I do feel a difference when I sleep on the Snuggle-Pedic. For various reasons, I am currently sleeping on an aero-bed, and so having a solid pillow that offers support helps to offset the fact that my bed sometimes deflates a little at night. In fact, it is sort of like I’ve tested the pillow under two circumstances-on a very firm bed (when it’s fully inflated at night) and on a softer mattress (when it is deflated a touch in the morning). In both cases the pillow does a nice job of supporting my head and neck, and the malleability of the material means the sinking of my bed isn’t as pronounced. In the course of reorganizing the room one day, I moved the Snuggle-Pedic and did not use it for close to a week, and during that time I was waking up with a sore neck. When I moved the Snuggle-Pedic back, I slept better…so while I didn’t intend to experiment, the results still showed the pillow really does make a difference! My son sometimes climbs into my bed to sleep, and he’s tried to steal the pillow a few times, so it clearly has his seal of approval too!

Spending $50+ on a pillow can sometimes be sticker shock, but it is absolutely worthwhile. I’ve used cheaper pillows in the past, and after a few months they get flat and worn. The Snuggle-Pedic has been in amazing shape since I started using it, and I have no doubt it will easily last for quite a long time to come! Plus, if you like your pillow, Snuggle-Pedic has a whole line of toppers, mattresses, kids pillows and body pillows as well.

What I Liked: Comfortable for any sleeping position; is firm without being too stiff; no foam odor; zippers for access and to clean the outside; works really well at offering support in firm and soft environments

What Needs Improvement: Can be very pricey at full price
