Abode All-in-One Security System Comes Complete with Voice Control

If you’re looking for a simple DIY smart home security system that doesn’t need a bunch of fuss to install, abode systems has the answer for you in their “iota” Security & Camera smart home system.

Abode All-in-One Security System Comes Complete with Voice Control

Designed to give users the freedom of monitoring their smart home under their own terms, the iota includes a built-in full HD resolution camera that allows you to see what’s going on in your home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Complete with a built-in gateway courtesy of Z-Wave, ZigBee, and abode RF connectivity will support hundreds of devices. So fans of HomeKit should be on the lookout as well, as the iota is the first complete security solution that will allow you to simply control and monitor your place via the Apple Home app, Siri, or directly from the units themselves.

What I’m intrigued by the most is the fact that it also has integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. As someone who personally cannot choose which Smarthome company I want to devote myself to, the iota has large promise being able to work all three from inception. Not only that but the iota allows users to get alerts so you know if there are intruders, if the cleaning company arrived, or simply just the going-ones in your home.

Wrapped in a sleek fabric, the cylindrical gateway comes with a built-in 1080p camera that can be placed anywhere to keep an ear and eye out on your place. The live video comes included so you can always check through abode’s website from your desktop or Apple Home from your smartphone or tablet. The iota allows users to automatically record activity due to set triggers and sensors from within the app as well. Did I mention that there will be local Nest and Ecobee support, as well as Phillips Hue and LifX directly? This thing can do it all.

With an integrated battery backup, you will get 10+ hours of battery life in the event your power goes out, and for pro-level monitoring, there are plans that you can purchase monthly that allow three to seven-day increments, up to an annual subscription for year-long viewing.

Available later this quarter for $329, you can check out the iota by visiting abode’s site.
