One of the saddest parts about purchasing one of Apple’s most recent MacBooks is that the company was so forward-thinking in terms of USB Type-C, they completely forgot that some of their more popular devices are still bound by Lightning and standard USB. As a result, customers have to live what’s been long considered “the dongle life”.

This week, Elgato introduced their ThunderBolt 3 Mini Dock, which is a different approach from the company known for their HomeKit-enabled products. Don’t be confused, however, as the Mini Dock continues the reliability and performance of many other ThunderBolt docks, featuring an HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3, Gigabit Ethernet Ports, and ironically, can sync your iPhone to your new MacBook Pro (take that, Apple). All of this WITHOUT compromising your bandwidth and slow charging your devices. With 40 Gbps of throughput, it doesn’t matter what’s plugged up to it, you can stream without lag, you can charge without slow speeds, and more importantly, when you’re ready to get up and go, it can be tossed in your bag and you can be on your way.
