All car chargers are alike. Right? Wrong. Just as different USB wall chargers can push out varying amps of power, so can car chargers. The Oneadaptr EVRI 45W USB-C Car Charger has a Type-C port that is powerful enough to charge your MacBook while it charges your mobile device.
Equipped with 45W of continuous power, EVRI Car offers efficient charging of USB Type-C laptops, mobile phones, and tablets, while the USB-A port allows for simultaneous charging of legacy devices.
Included in the box are the glossy black plastic EVRI USB-C car charger and a Type-C to Type-C cable. The car charger looks like many others out there, but it has both USB Type-C and Type-A ports on it. The USB-C port can deliver up to 20V, and the USB-A port can deliver up to 2.4V; oneadaptr says that the charger offers “fast charging with up to 45W of power.”
The EVRI Car has built-in overcurrent protection, over voltage protection, short-circuit protection, and over temperature protection. It can safely charge your MacBook and iPad at the same time, but if you want to take advantage of Apple’s Quick Charge, you can purchase a Type-C to Lightning cable which will charge your latest iPhone or iPad 2 to 3 times faster than usual.
If you travel a lot, being able to carry along a 12V charger that will work on planes while powering both your laptop and mobile device will come in handy. If you have to work in your car a lot, you’ll appreciate being able to power your MacBook without breaking out the wall charger (assuming your car even has the proper socket for that). This one’s going in my travel bag; it’s going to come in handy.
