Master & Dynamic, the New York City-based headphones manufacturer that Greg and I adore, has partnered with Leica to bring their new Silver Edition series of headphones; if you’re a fan of the camera brand, you’ll recognize the black, silver, and red styling immediately.
Uniting the senses of sight and sound: 0.95 is an homage to the Leica Noctilux – M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH. lens which reveals details that are hidden to the human eye. Fueled by the human desire to explore new worlds of creativity, the Master & Dynamic collection merges the fine art of precision engineering with valuable materials, sophisticated design, and detailed sound.
This is the second collaboration between Master & Dynamic and the iconic camera maker; this latest edition includes silver metal and black leather MW60 Wireless Over-Ear, MH40 Over-Ear Headphones, and silver-colored brass ME05 Earphones.
The Silver Edition headphones feature “high performance 45mm Neodymium and 8mm titanium drivers, both tuned to the brand’s signature rich, warm sound profile” with a “combination of durable cowhide and supple lambskin reminiscent of the leather used on Leica camera bodies and straps comprise the headband and ear pads of the MW60 Wireless Over-Ear and MH40 Over-Ear Headphones.” You’ll even find the iconic red marker from Leica’s lenses, as well as the Leica’s signature knurling throughout both the headphones and the ultra-tough PVD-coated earphones. You’ll also find the recognizable words “Developed in NYC. Reimagined in Wetzlar,” engraved inside the ear cup of the MW60 and MH40 in Leica’s signature font. All the attention to detail is there for fans of the Leica brand.
We’ve reviewed the MW60s (along with many other M&D headphones) here; Greg and I both have a pair, and they are excellent headphones! This new collaboration looks fantastic, and we know they will sound as good as they look.
