A while back we reviewed Mophie’s wireless charging base. The Wireless Charging Base offered 7.5w of wireless charging for the iPhone X, which is as fast as the iPhone X/8 supports. Now Mophie has come out with the Charge Stream Pad+.

The Charge Stream Pad+ is not only faster than the Wireless Charging Base, but it’s also universal. That means that it can charge both Apple and Samsung Qi-enabled smartphones. This new accessory offers 10W of charging for the Galaxy S9 and 7.5W for the iPhone X / 8. It uses a standard USB cable as opposed to the proprietary connector that the older wireless charging base used.

Of course all of the safety and protection features we’ve come to expect from mope are still there, that includes smart charging circuitry that communicates with the device to determine the optimal amount of power it needs, foreign object detection makes sure that power is only sent to compatible wireless devices, and a low standby current makes sure minimal power is drawn when the Pad+ is not in use.

The mophie Charge Stream Pad+ is available now for $59.99 on Mophie.com and at Verizon stores.
