Incase’s backpack are highly touted as some of the best bags on the market today. One of their highest selling backpacks happens to be the larger ICON backpack we reviewed a few months ago. So when the company announced they would be making a Woolenex version of the popular bag, I had to get my hands on one.

Expanding from their Heritage ICON collection, is the ICON Backpack with Woolenex. At $200 it’s certainly not the cheapest bag on the market, but as you already know I am a fan of getting what you pay for. And in this case, that’s certainly what you’re going to receive. Featuring a woolen polyester material built to withstand moisture, mildew and chemicals, the Icon backpack features all of the various pockets and compartments that the standard does, including a large main compartment for your laptop with a separate pocket for your tablet, and organizational flaps at every twist and turn. There’s a secondary pocket at the front of the back that allows you to organize everything from pens, gum, and a place to hold your keys with an included detachable key holder for you.

In terms of the Woolenex addition to the bag, it adds a bit more than the ability to repel raindrops, as the special coating stops the growth of mold and mildew, so if you tend to use your backpack as your gym bag, it will hold in smells to get you home, but I still wouldn’t advise leaving your musty clothes in there all week.

Having the three organizational compartments allow you to keep everything you desire, and since the ICON is available in three sizes (ICON, ICON Slim and ICON Lite) you can pick which works for you being your daily commute bag, or your carry on you put under your seat. What I Like: Everything, including the fact it can withhold mild and mildew, allows you to not worry about the bag eventually smelling due to being exposed to the elements.
