Here at Gear Diary, we’ve reviewed countless amounts of Bluetooth speakers with every bell and whistle you can name. From floating to glowing, we’ve probably seen it all. But there’s truly something to be said about the Douni A7 Bluetooth Speaker, which I’ve been testing for the past few weeks, and honestly, this has become Jess’ favorite speaker to date.
There haven’t been many pool days for us this summer due to the on-again, off-again weather, but every opportunity we’ve had to go to the pool, we try to take a speaker with us. Recently it’s been the Douni, which is a 20-watt portable Bluetooth speaker that has features that you’d expect to come with a price tag of $100 or more, but as of right now, Amazon currently has the speaker at $39.99.
The speaker itself isn’t the flashiest, and honestly, I prefer that. Opting for placing buttons at the top of the device, you can do volume and track control, and a dedicated button to place and end phone calls. The “M’ at to the top left of the controls allows for pairing with another A7 speaker which I truly enjoy. Each button includes a backlight which makes it easier to see at night as well.
With features like NFC technology coming included, the A7 speaker allows me to go from room to room with my device, and not having to deal with the sounds cutting in and out, which is something I’ve had a problem with a handful of other speakers.
The battery life is actually solid as well. With a rechargeable lithium internal 2x2200mAh battery, you can enjoy roughly 7.5 hours of your favorite tunes without fearing the need to recharge the speaker.
At the side of the A7 speaker, is the Power button, a port for plugging in headphones, an auxiliary port (which comes included), and finally a USB-A port that allows you to charge with a Micro-USB cable with comes included as well.
The listening experience, to be honest, is just decent. If you’re expecting a Bose-like experience, that’s not what you’ll get here. Don’t get me wrong, the A7 boasts two 10-watt drivers that prove to be very bass-heavy, but if you’re expecting a fully immersed listening experience that will allow you to hear every intricate detail of your music, you will not get that out of this speaker. However, if you want to liven up your party a little bit, or have a great Bluetooth for beachside/poolside, this is hands down a winner for me. And the ability to pair more than one together is great for House Parties, or even just having a speaker going in your kitchen while another is going in the living room.
On top of that, you truly can’t beat the price for what you’re getting. And just for our readers, Douni is sponsoring a code that gives you an additional discount on the A7 speaker by just entering this code at checkout:

What I Like: Multi-Room functionality and NFC compatibility for this price is very rare; Bass-heavy but that’s a personal preference
What Needs Improvement: The backlight on the hardware buttons aren’t the brightest, and should honestly be another color other than white; Also maybe use USB-C for charging?
