Gear Diary Visits PocketNow’s PNWeekly Podcast

Judie and I first met while we were guests on a podcast. I loved chatting with her and am grateful that I was able to begin writing for Gear Diary. Last week I was a guest on Pocketnow’s podcast PNWeekly. A longtime Pocketnow reader, I was excited. The conversation was lively and covered a lot of ground. Check it out.

Gear Diary Visits PocketNow's PNWeekly Podcast

The podcast was hosted by Pocketnow’s Jules and, in addition to me, Juler’s welcomed Ryan Dao of his Fried Face vlog. As mentioned, we covered a lot of ground. We talked about rumors the Samsung Note 9 will have a massive 4,000mAh battery, debated the likelihood and utility of Samsung introducing a dual-screen device, debated Dark Theme on Android, discussed LG’s marketing for the G7 ThinQ and more.

When it came time for us to share our wins, losers and gripes I raised my concern that Apple still uses Lightning connectors in iOS devices and some phones still use micro-USB. Why I asked, can’t we get all phones and tablets to move to USB-C?

It was a fun conversation, and I invite you to watch it and let us know what you think.

About the Author

Dan Cohen
Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. Dan is married to Raina Goldberg who is also an avid user of Apple products. They live in New Jersey with their golden doodle Nava.
