I love the fact that my iPhone has wireless charging, and I am excited to see other products such as the new Rowkin earphones I recently reviewed, adding wireless charging. I currently have a number of wireless chargers around my home and in my office at the synagogue, but each of them only charges one device at a time. Nomad’s latest product takes a different approach. It offers two locations for wireless charging and then two additional ways to charge devices. That happens to be two more charging options that Apple’s AirPower promised and, of course, the AirPower is little more than a concept. Apple not only hasn’t released it but, since first announcing it some time ago, they have yet to mention it again.

The Base Station is an attractive wireless charger that looks simple but packs a ton of technology. It has three high-power coils for wirelessly charging two devices at once with 10W each of power delivered. When wirelessly charging a device or two, this charger gives you options.

You can lay one device on it length-wise.

You can lay one device on it with just the middle of the device resting on top of the wireless coils.

Or you can lay two devices on it at once and charge both simultaneously.

No matter what position or arrangement you choose, whether you are charging a phone or two or some other device which has wireless charging, you can rest assured your device is safe as it rests on the padded leather charging surface.

Also, to be ing able to simultaneously charge two devices wirelessly, the Base Station has a USB-C charging port that delivers 18W of power for a super-fast charging experience, as well as a USB-A port that delivers 7.5W of power. That means you can wirelessly charge both your iPhone 8 or X model, your Apple EarPods, and charge two additional devices. All of this charging goodness happens using a charging base that looks great, has a beautiful leather surface and doesn’t have a large footprint that calls too much attention to itself. As Nomad explains:

Every detail matters. We have meticulously designed Base Station for aesthetics and performance. With a height of just half a centimeter and a sleek aluminum frame, Base Station serves as the premium charging solution for every device.

Features:

  • Charges up to 4 devices simultaneously
  • Dual 10W wireless charging
  • USB-A 7.5W port
  • USB-C PD 18W port
  • Padded leather wireless charging surface
  • LED charging indicators
  • Ambient light sensor dims LED’s at night

The LED charging indicators take the guesswork out of charging while the ambient light sensor is a great feature since it dims the LEDs at night making this a great charging station to keep next to your bed.
